Liliana Geati, LCSW
Liliana works with children and adolescents who may be struggling to understand or manage big emotions, anxiety, low self-esteem, challenging behaviors, or difficult life experiences. She believes that therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where clients can be themselves, feel genuinely heard, and develop the confidence and skills to navigate challenges. Liliana brings warmth, patience, and a collaborative approach to her work, meeting each client where they are and helping them recognize their own strengths.
Liliana has particular experience working with:
● Anxiety and emotional regulation
● Depression and low mood
● Trauma and difficult life experiences
● Self-esteem and confidence
● Behavioral and social-emotional challenges
● Life transitions and adjustment
● Children and adolescents with varying developmental needs
Liliana draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She believes therapy should be individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. Her approach combines practical tools and skill-building with space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences. She also values collaboration with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals when it can support a client's growth.
Liliana holds a Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) holder. She has professional experience providing social-emotional support, crisis intervention, behavioral assessment, and counseling within school settings, including work with children as young as three years old.
Outside of her clinical work, Liliana has a lifelong connection to dance and enjoys staying active and spending time with the people she cares about. She brings the same genuine, encouraging, and down-to-earth spirit to her clinical relationships, with the goal of helping every client feel that they don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.
