Kristin Sorensen, LPC Candidate
I have always been a believer in people, seeing each person I encounter as having a unique story that has played a role in who they are. Yet it can be difficult for individuals to see their strengths and capabilities when they encounter a life event, situation or relationship in which they feel stuck, overwhelmed or uncertain.
My passion lies in supporting individuals through personalized care and meeting them where they are at, developing a plan to move forward, and helping them realize that they hold the tools necessary to live a meaningful life. The decision to pursue counseling is a brave step towards bringing about desired change in one’s life. As such, it is my goal to create a safe, trusting, and inspiring relationship where clients feel truly seen and heard.
I enjoy working with women of all ages, female athletes and couples. With over ten years of experience leading various groups, working within faith spaces, sports arenas and with a wide-range of ages, I bring a variety of strategies to help clients create movement towards freedom in their lives. My bachelor’s degree is in Kinesiology from Calvin College and I am currently completing my Master’s in clinical mental health counseling from National Louis University.
Beyond counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three (almost) grown children, teaching fitness classes, spending time outdoors and embracing new opportunities for growth.
